Tips for Discount Tire

Don't shop here.. After getting a nail in my tire, they refused to repair it, or replace it. It is still under their warrenty. They first guy tried to sell me a new tire, the second one wanted me to buy all four! When I first bought my tires they didn't put my spare back up under the car, and I had to drive back there to have them do it. Lazy, ripoff! Don't shop here.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. They're crooks! The only thing they're good for is changing out your spare free of charge. After that, they sell you expensive tires with warranties that don't exist. Bought from them 4 tires with a 60K warranty and by 27K the tires were virtually bare and they offered $30 credit for each tire. Move on to a local and reputable service provider. Forced to give them some sort of rating, 1 star far exceeds their worth. :(

Great and Friendly Service. I went in to just get a free tire patch on a flat. They looked at the tire and told me it wouldn't be a problem. However they came back and said the tire damage was worse than they thought and I would need a new tire. The manager must have seen my heart drop right out of my chest and ended up putting a tire on for free since they had originally said they could fix the tire.

I will always go back

Go Somewhere Else. After making an appointment 1 week ahead to get two snow tires changed, I arrived and the salesman went to my car, tore open the bags my tires were in and then informed me they wouldn't change my tires because they were made in 1998. They had changed the exact same tires last year and the year before. When I called they never said anything about their new "policy". He didn't even offer to re-bag the tires. I had to go in and ask them to do it. I went down the street to Big O with no appointment and got in and out in less than an hour. Go to Big O on 30th and Valmont.

Rip Off artists. Wouldn't honor a warranty

Charged my wife the price of two tires when she bought one.

Over filled the tires over mfg suggested PSI so they wore out in the middle of the tire - tough to see on the outside.

Tried to get me to buy 4 tires when only needed 2 - only because they didn't have any of more of my brand 8 months later.

GO TO WALMART AND SAVE BIG $$$$$$$!!!!!

PUT WRONG TIRES ON MY CAR, REFUSED TO EXCHANGE THEM AND HONOR SALES CONTRACT!!!. I have a Toyota Prius and it requires special (expensive) tires that can stand up to the extra-heavy front end. You can't just put the right SIZE tire on, you have to use the ones rated for the heavy weight or your tires will wear out in 10,000 miles. Discount Tire assured me they had the right size and rating tire, which I gave them IN WRITING to make sure I was clear what I needed. They installed 4 new tires, I paid $500 for them, they showed me the contract that gives me 30 days to exchange them, plus an 80K mile warranty so I left thinking all was well. When I got home I looked closer at the tires and realized they were NOT the ones I'd requested. I called to exchange them, they said they would have to order them -- ??? gee they told me at the time they'd put them on that they were the right ones! - and to call them back in a week. I called; my tires were not in yet. Called a week after that, still no tires. Long story short I told them I needed the correct tires and they said they were "due in any day now" and those SLIMEBALLS let my 30-day window expire and then they told me it was past the time I could exchange them. If you need special tires DO NOT BUY THEM HERE unless you look at them BEFORE they put them on and you're sure they're what you want, because you will be stuck with them once they're on and you drive off! This place is ok for regular tires, they have lots of them, but BEWARE they might put some off-brand tires on your car if you don't look at what you're buying first!!! Bottom line, look at the tires before they go on your car and make sure they're what you want, because these jerks will give you the run-around if you try to use that useless "30-day exchange warranty" they tout. I WILL NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, EVEN FOR BASIC TIRES FOR MY FORD TRUCK, BECAUSE THEY LIED TO ME AND CHEATED ME.

unfortunate events and incompetence. Ah, where to begin. My daughter was getting her first set of new tires, Mich. HydroEdge, and made a 50 dollar deposit to hold the tires in question for her appointment. (was told only 4 left in stock) At her appt., she was told they didn't have the tires- it was a computer problem - she was asked if she would like another similar size instead... uh no...and she made another appointment to come back the next day. She arrived early, but it still took 2 hours until the car was finished. For the annoyance of having to come back a second time they refunded her 48 dollars. Nice gesture. But they also charged her $65 for the replacement certificate without even asking, mentioning it, or asking me on the phone earlier. We didn't want this either! They also charged the usual disposal fees. When she went to pack her car the next day to come home- she opens the trunk and there are her old tires!!!

The real kicker came when she started to drive out of town on her way north. At 40 miles per hour, her car started to shake dramatically. This was Sunday evening at 7pm. She called us and was very nervous and we told her to drive very slowly to the nearest town, Longmont, and hopefully someone could check the lugnuts. A nice fellow at Sears, saw 4 oz of weight on each one and immediately knew something was wacky. So he rebalanced them and told her whoever had done it originally was totally incompetent, and she was lucky. He charged her nothing!, she was on her way- all fine- no vibration anymore.

Paul at Discount said there must have been something funny about the equipment used- wanted to make amends, and she agreed to a refund for the certificate, keeping the replacement policy for free and $100.

They only refunded her $100. Nothing back for the certificate or the tire recycling that they never did.

These folks have trouble getting anything right. Watch them like a hawk, or go elsewhere.

Fort Collins location was no problem for me- same tires - good service.
