THE BEST!!!. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Boulder. The Margaritas are the strong and delicious and the food is amazing. I had the fajitas and they were still sizzling when they got to my table. They had so much flavor and spice what more could anyone ask for! The staff is friendly and very helpful. This restaurant offers great food and service at an affordable price!…
Ewwwww! Yucky!. I ordered something that sounded good. Blue Corn Enchiladas with cheese. My plate came out not as described...but a stack of cheap tortillas with fake cheese and DROWNED in a no taste till the terrible after taste 'sauce'. It was like yuck soup! and came with no side! I couldn't eat it! Don't go!…
Best Green Chile. I always look forward to going to Efrain's. Yes the lines are long, yes it is a dive or sorts, But I cannot get enough of it. If you are a yuppie, this ain't your place, but if you want authentic mexican food, at a decent value, this is it. The guac is fantastic. The other dishes that I have dipped into are delicisous, but I never seem to be able to not order the green chili, if you like it HOT…
Boulder location always has a wait on weeknights.. So we visit Efrain's at least once a week because I am Mexican and it's the only decent mexican food in the area. After last night, however, we will not be returning for some time. There is often a wait for dinner, so we did not mind when we were told it would only take 15 minutes. There were several other parties in front of us. But a party of four walked in, and it was presumed they were family of the hostess. Well, they slipped her $50 and she seated them promptly, completely bypassing all who had been waiting. One party was so angry they walked out. We ended up waiting over a half an hour. I can understand wanted to help your family, but to bypass people who had been waiting is really bad for business. Family should also understand that you are doing a job, and they should not expect celebrity treatment. We used to recommend Efrain's to everyone we knew, but after last night we will no longer be telling people about this place. I hope in time the juvenile hostess learns better business practices, and that she will stop losing business for this good restaurant and the other people that work there.…
Avoid like the plague. Two business associates and I ate at the Efrain's location in east Boulder. It was crowed but we managed to find a table before the lunch rush. Wait staff was prompt and friendly. Unfortunately - the food side fell short - really short. I wouldn't consider this authentic Mexican food or anywhere close. I 've had the pleasure of eating at many Mexican restuarants over the years and this has to be some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The plates were scalding hot and all of our food was basically a soupy goop of beans, rice and a weak version of green "something". Taco Bell has nothing to worry about.…
