THE BEST!!!. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Boulder. The Margaritas are the strong and delicious and the food is amazing. I had the fajitas and they were still sizzling when they got to my table. They had so much flavor and spice what more could anyone ask for! The staff is friendly and very helpful. This restaurant offers great food and service at an affordable price!

Ewwwww! Yucky!. I ordered something that sounded good. Blue Corn Enchiladas with cheese. My plate came out not as described...but a stack of cheap tortillas with fake cheese and DROWNED in a no taste till the terrible after taste 'sauce'. It was like yuck soup! and came with no side! I couldn't eat it! Don't go!

Best Green Chile. I always look forward to going to Efrain's. Yes the lines are long, yes it is a dive or sorts, But I cannot get enough of it. If you are a yuppie, this ain't your place, but if you want authentic mexican food, at a decent value, this is it. The guac is fantastic. The other dishes that I have dipped into are delicisous, but I never seem to be able to not order the green chili, if you like it HOT

Boulder location always has a wait on weeknights.. So we visit Efrain's at least once a week because I am Mexican and it's the only decent mexican food in the area. After last night, however, we will not be returning for some time. There is often a wait for dinner, so we did not mind when we were told it would only take 15 minutes. There were several other parties in front of us. But a party of four walked in, and it was presumed they were family of the hostess. Well, they slipped her $50 and she seated them promptly, completely bypassing all who had been waiting. One party was so angry they walked out. We ended up waiting over a half an hour. I can understand wanted to help your family, but to bypass people who had been waiting is really bad for business. Family should also understand that you are doing a job, and they should not expect celebrity treatment. We used to recommend Efrain's to everyone we knew, but after last night we will no longer be telling people about this place. I hope in time the juvenile hostess learns better business practices, and that she will stop losing business for this good restaurant and the other people that work there.

Avoid like the plague. Two business associates and I ate at the Efrain's location in east Boulder. It was crowed but we managed to find a table before the lunch rush. Wait staff was prompt and friendly. Unfortunately - the food side fell short - really short. I wouldn't consider this authentic Mexican food or anywhere close. I 've had the pleasure of eating at many Mexican restuarants over the years and this has to be some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The plates were scalding hot and all of our food was basically a soupy goop of beans, rice and a weak version of green "something". Taco Bell has nothing to worry about.

Fantastic Mexican Food. Fantastic food! Great family place. Nice patio during summer. We've never had a problem with customer service, and find the servers very personable. Then again, we tend to linger. It's much easier to get a table without a wait here then at the Boulder Efrains because it is a much bigger place.

u must be kidding. this is the best mexican restaurant in boulder. now this isnt the fru fru place that gives u the crappy american touch. if u like heat this is a good place to go. not for greengos. i highly suggest the B&B burrito with the pork chili verde. makes me sweat and i cant stop eating it. i do wish they had a slightly hotter choice but ill live. i dont know wut ukrainagirl is talkin about so she can go bak to ukrain and enjoy the food there. mason jars of ritas is a good start. so ok the service is a lil slow but this is coming from a people who take a nap during the day, i think they got sumthin there. enjoy the sopapias while u wait.

Disgusting. This is the worst place to eat in Boulder. I have volunteered serving meals at a homeless shelter before and even that was better than at Efrain's. Do not eat there unless you are a masochist. You can get better chips from a vending machine.

Worst Service Ever. If you have lots of time and do not mind being ignored or worse by your server, then Efrins is great. The place looks like a dump, which is a good thing in my opinion for cheap Mexican, and it has its charms. The food is delicious and plentiful. The house Margs, served in a mason jar, are great. I do not recommend drinking more than two if you want to function anymore that day. The hostess is friendly and the bartenders are welcoming. It looks like a busy and energetic place. But the servers are the worst I have ever seen. I think that there are lots of regulars that get the attention. If you do not know everyone on a first name basis, prepare to be ignored or even treated rudely. The servie was bad, slow and indifferent the first two Fridays I took my family there. On the third Friday we were quoted a 30 min wait, but did not get seated for 50 mins while friends and regulars walked in and got the tables we should have gotten. Then It took a full 15 mins for anyone to come by the table. If you have ever sat in a restaurant and been ignoreed for 15 mins, you know it seems like a very, very long time. No one came by to appologize, and nothing was taken off of our check. It was like they would be glad if we never came back. Great food, great margs, and service that is the worst I have ever seen.

MMMMMM.......Tequila.............. Efrain's has the BEST margaritas in town-I dare you to compare with other "local favorites." Great selection of tequila. They serve outstanding, authentic Mexican food in large, spicy portions. It is time for everyone to go try a White Lightning or Boulder's Best at Efrain's.
