Rose is still blooming – I recently had my 97 4Runner tire set switched over to snows - mount and balance; safety check and wind shield wiper blades replaced. My first visit to this location and it will be my regular service shop.
I also had my back gate repaired at The Auto Place (July 09) - the sister garage and they were equally as thorough and straight forward - I hope they offer a LS rose to the guys too; I sure am enjoying mine.
For the absolute best in auto service and problem prevention, go to 28th Street on Pearl! – The only SAFE and RELIABLE place I take my car is 28th Street Garage. In fact, I was just there last week. One of the reasons I prefer their technicians is because they take extra good care of me, yet they don't make me feel like "just a woman who doesn't know anything about her car." For example, when I went to pick the car up this time after an oil change and a visual check of the undercarriage (I'd had an encounter with a foreign object), they informed me that they'd removed a screw from my left rear tire and then had watched it to make sure it didn't lose any air! Now that's service! They also tell me what to watch out for so that I can do maintenance BEFORE it's too late. This time, they told me to listen for squeaky brakes, indicating that it's time to get new ones. They also reminded me that I need to get new tires soon. Also, and this is very improtant to me, they don't leave black heel marks all over my champagne-colored carpet. Not only that, but they are LESS EXPENSIVE than the dealer -- every time! I truly don't take my car anywhere else, unless it's a delaer recall or something that must be done there.
Don't take my word for it; go see why 28th Street Garage was voted Boulder's BEST!
expensive and not nice (for me) – Very expensive inspection cost. My car was running fine, just wanted to replace belts and spark plugs as per the maintenance schedule, no dealer for my car in Boulder to do this. When I questioned the price of their estimate for basic maintenance costs, about $1,000 more than I was expecting, and told them I would call them back after deciding, they told me to "go ahead and call my daddy."
As a 26 year old living on my own, expecting to pay for this on my own, who had done research on what kinds of costs I should expect for maintenance, I found this very derogatory and unnecessarily rude.
Others have recommended this place; perhaps I just look like a type of someone they do not like. However, based on my experience, I personally would not recommended this place to a youngish single woman with a limited income.
