Boulder >Knit Wit
I'm so glad to read these awful reviews and know I'm not the only one. I've never been spoken to the way the owner of this store spoke to me. I will NEVER give them a cent, I'd rather give my money to Chelsea and Weekends. So incredibly disgusted. The antithesis of a Boulder store. He must think he's in NYC or Boston. By the limited selection they are already feeling the ripple effect of their horrifying attitudes.
KARMA is right!!. After reading the reviews and reflecting back on my recent experience at this awful clothing store, it definitely appears to me that friends/family members are writing the good reviews. I'm so surprised that this store is still in business! WHAT A JOKE!! Even when I walk by the store...there is never anyone inside...I'm sure because of the rude and ignorant people/owner that work inside. I only expect that it is just a matter of time when we will see this store vacant and good riddens!! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!!
Karma, Baby! Karma!.
I've driven past Knit Wit for years and have always meant to pop in for a peek. My daughter's wedding is coming up and I was hoping I'd find a wonderful 'frock' there. I went to Citysearch to read reviews on Knit Wit and other indie boutiques. I was very disappointed to read the negative reviews of Knit Wit.
While Knit Wit has received an overall 4-star review, the negative remarks concerning customer service are a problem -- and there are many. They read as if service is given or withheld based upon first impression. Whether this is true or not, 'perception' is very real to the customer: what an awful thing to walk into a store with high hopes that some lovely item is calling your name with staff willing to accommodate your transformation or 'desperate' need, only to feel dismissed or unworthy. That is plain wrong. If there's truth behind the projected attitude, then the only word that fittingly describes the staffs' behavior is 'hideous'.
Indeed, my curiousity has been extinguished and Knit Wit will never know what I loyal customer I might have been.
Worst customer service in Boulder!.
I have lived in Boulder 13 years and rarely shop on Pearl st and now I know why. My mother and I were shopping for a special outfit for her. We wandered into Knit Wit. There were no customers besides us. None of the three employees (two female staff and the male owner?) bothered to acknowledge us until we found a blouse we were interested in. The woman sitting on a stool behind a counter near us looked up to say we were obviously a size large and they didn't have our size. End of conversation.
I turned around, went back in to complain about the rude comment and the owner told me point blank he wouldn't let us try on any clothes because we would stretch them out.
We are both average sized women. I am not exxagerating this encounter. I never write reviews but this was so outrageous I had to.
I felt as if someone had spit in my face.
Sweet!. Whenever I visit Boulder everyone seems to be pretty crabby. What a refresher to walk into this store and talk with some of the nicest people you will ever come across! Great people, great clothes, great experience! Don't miss out!
Quite possibly one of the best small boutiques in America today!
Always have great customer service. Have helped me put it together, always walk out with multiple new favorite outfits that I wear time and time again!
Great gifts for me!!. As a visitor of Knit Wit when I am in town I often get a few pick me ups that help my wardrobe! I always find something that can't live without, and more! WIth a birthday coming up I had hinted to my fiance that I always loved Knit Wit's early sweater shopping. To my surprise the hints worked and I unwrapped a new sweater when my day came! Thank you Knit Wit for helping my fiance make my birthday sooo very special! Can't wait till next year!!!
appallingly rude customer service. i bought a dress at Knit Wit which after a few wears fell apart in it's lining. This was, of course a very expensive dress. 'Pam' took one quick look at it and condescendingly recommended a repair tailor. She refused to give me any contact information for the manufacturer and implied that I must have over worn it or over washed it! I was truly appalled by her. Yes, the clothes in the store are interesting and unusual but the service belittling and vacuous.
Love this Store for almost 15 years. If you are fussy, love trends but don't love everyone having the same outfit you are wearing Knit Wit is for you. I bought most of my favorite outfits saved them as I got older knowing one day I would get pregnant and have a baby. Last year, I pulled out from the archived my 1993 $200 overalls and tunics that were very fashionable back then and work them as maternity. People would stop me and ask me where did you get that outfit? Knit Wit to this day still amazes me and everytime I am in Boulder which isn't enough I stop by and spend a few hundred bucks on something I wear for a long long time. Pam, the owner put me into 2 Kooba belts and a long tight white tee-shirt that I basically lived in for 2 years. I reside in San Francisco and I still haven't found my Knit Wit!
They did not want my business!!.
Have always loved their clothing. Had my eye on a dress recently...went in recently to try the dress on.
My friends and I walked in as they were changing over one part of the store...exactly where my dress was. The salesperson/maybe the owner would not assist with getting me or selling me the dress.
My friends all found outfits they liked, however due to the rude unexplainable behaviour of this person we left. Quite frankly this woman and her actions forced us to leave and it seemed intentional.
Knit Wits was one of my favorite stores in Boulder. I will never set foot in this store again and I will recommend tha same to all of my friends in Boulder and beyond
