Best food, appetizers, service & manager!Great outdoor area!. Visited Boulder, CO (April, 2012) for the first time with husband, who was born here in 1947! (his first time since he was two years old!) and we both plan to revisit, including Tom's Tavern, which has the best food, service and outside seating area!!! So plan on us visiting again soon!
city search can we depend on your site? stars don't add up?. I have a question. Why do they have 4 stars. If 8 people have rated them that is a possible 40 stars but they have only received 19 and well do the math to get the average amount of stars. 40 divided by 19 is 2.1. They should be showing 2 stars not 4, don't you think 2 is nice enought. City Search can we depend on your website?
bowling style minus being able to bowl. If you like going to bowling alleys and hanging out but never much cared for bowling or the fact that the cheap food actually cost that much then you will like Toms Tavern. I don't know who said best burger in town maybe the gaggle of homeless looking people that hang out there. Anyway, don't waste your time or money on this joint. If you want a good burger on Pearl go to one of the pubs.
Yuck!!!!!. I went into Toms thinking I would be able to enjoy a good, inexpensive burger in a low key local pub type place. Instead I got a concession stand quality burger (for $8) with overcooked frozen fries. Not to mention the waitress who appeared to be on something. She kept wiping her nose with her hand, talking really loud, fast and constantly about nothing and made me feel nervous because she wouldn?t stop fidgeting. I have no idea how management didn?t notice. Toms Tavern is the worst place all around I have been in Boulder. You?re better off at BJ?s or Old Chicago.
best burgers boulder colorado. tom's tavern was a big disapointment. heard about it and was in boulder from florida on vacation. so made it a point to stop in for a burger. was at most a frozen burger you would expect from a bowling alley of sorts. small, hard and bland. had many better burgers in boulder than tom's.being from rochester ny. where they grind their surloin fresh everyday and melt in your mouth freshness. sorry but tom's is not the burger for boulder's best.
good ol' fashioned food. loves it!. so cozy. i felt as if i was back in a small town tavern rather than on busy pearl st. plus good pub food.
Situated at the west end of the Pearl Street Mall, this has been serving hamburgers in Boulder for decades..
In Short
This basic hamburger joint is a Boulder tradition that's survived the hippie era, the yuppie scene and all the changes in downtown Boulder over more than 30 years. Whether customers want a burger rare or well done, it consistently comes out right. Tom's serves other food besides burgers, of course, but it's best known for that sort of American fare.
Boulder Classic. Toms has been a meeting place for a great period of time for me, and it holds a special place in my heart. The corner booth overlooking Pearl and 10th has been the mecca of great experiences with friends. Toms burger is classic, no greasier than any other burger, and comes with a side and fries. The ambience and service are just classic Toms, very chill and satisfying. After a brief hiatus from Toms, my most recent visit found that their portions of side dish and fries have decreased slightly, which leaves you with a just enough feeling, rather than the Im full feeling, of previous years.
Greasy is right!. This place has by far the worst burgers in Boulder. The burgers are fried in grease, not char-broiled. That puts them in the same class with Macdonalds, somewhere below Burger King, even. For good burgers in Boulder, go to the West End Tavern, 14th St Grill, or Dolan's. Even Chili's or TGIF is far better than old Tom's.
greasyumptious!!!. After eating at most of the burger joints on the list, I have to come back to Tom's Tavern. It's the tastiest most consistent basic burger of found!!! If you haven't been, make the trip to the west end of the Boulder mall, and after the burger go around the corner for a tasty marg at Juanita's!!!
