This is the place for great food food to please everyone from vegan to carnivore..
In Short
Although Rudi's started as a vegetarian restaurant, it is now an expertly blended combination of meat and veggies that is sure to please everyone in a group. Imagine a restaurant that attempts a fusion of dishes as diverse as saag panir, fettucini verde and filet mignon with brandied pepper sauce--and all with four-star quality. Breakfast is just as impressive, with intriguing highlights like gingerbread pancakes or blackened trout with eggs.

Great Food - Great Service.
Several friends joined me for Sunday brunch - we all had an excellent meals. I had blackened trout (at my request served without the eggs & potatos, on a bed of greens) - it arrived hot, perfectly seasoned and served not only on a bed of fresh greens, but with assorted salad veggies as well. I really appreciated the chef's willingness to accomodate my request. There was something for everyone on the menu, the portions were generous, and we shared samples from each other's plates - everything tasted GREAT. The FORMER OWNERS know what they're doing, I'm glad they're back - Rudi's has alot to offer.

Back under original ownership!.
I just wanted to say that the two previous reviews are completely invalid now. Yes, everything was true THEN. But now the original owners are back and everything is wonderful! The food is so delicious and they have something for everyone! Italian, Indian, Thai, beef, seafood, vegetarian, etc. Best of all - the veggies are locally grown and organic as much as possible, the meat is organic and all natural, and the salmon is wild, not farmed! They also offer organic wines. The chef uses plenty of fresh herbs and spices, so everything is very flavorful. Also, the portions are plentiful and the homemade herbed bread is delicious! If you tried Rudi's last year under the former owner - you should definitely give it a second chance! There's a reason it was here for over 20 years before it was sold! Thankfully Rudi's was not lost and has been revived.

Not worth the trip.
We to Rudi's after hearing about it from Boulder natives. Another bonus, we thought, was they were listed in the entertainment book with a nice discount. Once we were seated and had placed our orders, we were told that the 2 page ad, color ad in the entertainment book was a misprint and would not be honored. Question, how is a 2 page color spread, with menu listing and details a misprint. Anyway, we were offered the daily deal, $10 off our meal.
I ordered the vegetarian saag with addition of chicken. The dinner came with a poor version of lentil soup and bread which had absolutely no itial taste but a HORRIBLE after taste. My husband didn't think too much of his dinner either.
We definitely will not be going back nor will we be recommending this place to others.

new owner kills great place.
We had been going to Rudi's for 20 years. Always had great meals....until last week. New owner has wrecked the place. Wilted salad, souppy entree -even bread was stale. When we complained waitperson got defensive, "well we have the same cooks".
No one came from back of restaurant to discuss situation. Just the check and out the door.
One of best places in Boulder is now an below average has-been. What a crime.
