This place is pretty convenient they have amazing sandwiches that are better than any places that I’ve been. I have a new favorite place in the city!
Worst Coffee Shop in Boulder.
Vic's is by far the worst coffee shop in the Boulder area. The staff is consistently rude, unfriendly, disrespecful, and arrogant. You can get great bagels and coffee at Moe's Bagels, Ideal Market, or Pekoe if you're in this particular part of Boulder. Saxy's, The Cup, and The Laughing Goat are all nearby and have great staff and a friendly atmosphere. Vic's is the role model for how not to be a coffee shop.
When someone is hired at Vic's the owner, an individual lacking any business acumen, informs his staff that the customer isn't right. Oddly enough, employees have poor social skills nor the ability to connect with customers. This coffee shop is the last place that you would want to go when waking up and blissfully thinking about that first cup of coffee. You're day will be ruined in minutes. We were once joking that the staff probably make bets on how quickly they can ruin a customers day. It's winnowed down to seconds at this stage.
The food is horrible, the staff know very little about coffee, its commodity chain, or the social or environmental issues surrounding it, devoid of culture, context, or energetic vibe.
The coffee shop has purposefully made it as difficult as possible for customers to meet, collabrate, work on their computers, or enjoy a friendly atmosphere in a coffee shop.
It does not occur at Vic's. If you're in a hurry and wish to get in and out as quickly as possible without any positive interactions, while interacting with incompetent individuals, then this is the coffee shop for you. If you enjoy self flagelation then Vic's will help you readily accomplish that goal whilst buying a cup of joe. If you wake up and bump your toe on the side of the bed and see that your day can't possibly get any worse, then go to Vic's.
Once, our company received a resume from someone that indicated that they had worked for Vic's.
So, employees, leave this off the ol' resume. We're not sure about everyone else, but we're not interested in anyone with experience at this business. It's a training camp for poor customer service skills.
If there are any consultants or firms that help businesses develop better customer service skills, then Vic's is a ripe place to market. You could make billions trying to improve this place.
I wouldn't give my dog coffee from this place.
Been going to Vics on Broadway for 11 years and it speaks Boulder. Best location to park and walk in and hang with friends inside or grab a sunny table facing the Flatirons out. Coffee is from a Boulder roaster and is always tasty enough. Look closely and you will see happy faces round a table of friends and yes we put up with the resident gruff owner who grumbles if our chairs are in the aisle or somebody reads a new Daily Camera without paying, But hey prices are fair, friends are there and you can shop or eat next door or grab your groceries from Ideal without moving your car.
Some bicycle spandexters but mostly regular Boulder ppl and a few hundred Trustfunders at 10am on weekdays. Sweet home Boulder
You can do much better. Too bad the typical atmosphere in a Boulder coffee shop, which is lame, has been taken another notch lower by lame coffee and rude management. The owner is a real bonehead who demonstrates that he probably knows little about how to treat others, including his customers.
Coffee weak and bad Internet policy.
They don't turn on Internet until 11am! And there is no sign telling you that. Recently I chose Vics, instead of Moes or Breadworks next door, which have better food, because I wanted Internet. I felt ripped off after buying the coffee to learn I could not get online.
Also, their large coffee is still just two shots, so they are basically charging you more $ for hot water.
Vic's on Broadway is the smoothest coffee shop in town. Not for everyone as it has a totally different crowd than the Trident. So for getting into the Boulder scene, hanging out or doing work on your laptop, Vic's is the spot.
2nd to Vic's is Amante in North Boulder on Broadway..however they usually have soccer or cycling blasting out on their plasma screen...so not the best ambience to chill out, but great to watch the Tour de France.
3rd is the Trident...but it is often dark and resembles a western bar (minus peanut shells on the floor).
kicked out into the cold!!!. manager kicked my family out into 15 degree weather when our car broke down because we were tainting his 'image'.
