Tacos and burritos are custom-made with fresh ingredients at this industrial-chic Mexican chain..
In Short
Boasting a sleek decor of blond wood, raw steel and exposed pipes, this taqueria hums with conversation and an eclectic mix of piped-in salsa, rock and reggae. Patrons--mostly on-the-go professionals and parents with kids in tow--line up at an assembly-line style counter for hard and soft tacos or burritos (regular, fajita-style or without the tortilla) made with fillings like grilled chicken or steak, free-range pork or shredded beef.
This is NOT the real thing. I have no idea why this chain is so popular. Perhaps it's because there are very few places in the Twin Cities to get a burrito, but that doesn't make this place even worth trying out. Sure the burritos are big, but they are way overpriced and the fillings are far below acceptable (white rice?!). The meat and beans are unfavorful and the gaucamole is not fresh. Try a real "mega" burrito in areas of the country that actually make them right (and charge half the price) and you would never go back to this place.
Ah, behold the 40 lbs. Burrito! (almost). When the fast food experts at McDonald decided, "let's buy Chipolte!" Most people would have gone, "Chi.. who?" But today, thanks to crafty advertising, and FANTASTIC food, Chipolte's are popping up all over. They sport a small, simple menu, yes. But their is not one item on that menu that is not good! Their burritos are magnífico! They are enorme in every sense of the word. Their chips and guacamole is extraordinary, and the prices are very reasonable. Chipolte is Mexican food that will actually fill you up! Cuatro estrellas!
Chipotle. I'm from North Dakota and have eaten at Chipotle several times while visiting the cities. They have the best food! It is authentic and you get a lot for your money.
FRESH to the MEX. Although I wouldn't classify Chipotle as "authentic" its so gosh darn good I could care less. A burrito the size of your head for under $6.00? If you leave here hungry or unsatisfied it would be a shock!
Fresh Tasty & Cheap. Forget boring fast food. Chipotle is fast, cheap, and good for you. They have a simple menu that you can use to create your own favorite meal. Try the hot salsa, it's not for the Minnesota mild crowd. Th interiors are great also.
what!?!?. their food is sub-standard in flavor, freshness and variety and overall is a bad deal
On a pedastal above the rest!!. Wow. Now, this is a meal you can hold in one hand- and exercise your biceps with. I've only tried the chicken burrito, but have never been dissappointed. Everything's always fresh and hot- sort of the way other fast food places aim to be. Sometimes the line to order is out the door, but the 10 min. wait is worth it. Try the chips too. For something like .79, the lime tortilla chips are hard to beat.
Yummy and Filling!. This is a great place to eat at if you don't want to eat unhealthy and want to eat something yummy in a hurry. I am a vegetarian and it is usually very difficult to find something good at McDonalds and other fast food places. Their Veggie Burrito is a great filler and yummy too. I can usually finish mine in one go, but for those with smaller appetites, you can save the rest for snacking later!
