Great pizza, but noisy and crowded

Pizza is tasty and interesting. If the atmosphere were nicer, we'd have stuck around for a glass or two of wine, and dessert; instead, we left as soon as possible. This is a place for people who are happy in a very noisy atmosphere; all the hard surfaces make for a constant din from music, kids, dishes, waitstaff talking loudly to each other, and even the dishwashing machine (I could feel the vibrations through my chair, an exciting experience!). Tables are small and very close together. Not a comfortable or relaxing environment for a nice meal.

- Cons: noisy, crowded, difficult parking

Go for the flavor!!! Not to stuff your face!!

A very gourmet alternative to the surplus of standard pizza places in town. The quality was a bargain, however the quantity suffered which is fine if you're not set on stuffing your face for cheap!!!

Proto's is Near-Perfect!

We had a little trouble finding Proto's as the sign isn't very prominent, but we were very happy to be inside once we got there. We had a great waitress -- friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and others also checked on us occasionally (it was a crowded Saturday). The restaurant is small, but we were seated almost immediately -- lucky that there were only 2 of us, I suppose! The salad, pizza, beer, and dessert were all delicious, and our bill for all that was only around $30. You should definitely try Proto's.
- Pros: excellent service, great food & desserts, well-lit
- Cons: limited seating

I slipped down some fresh oysters on the half shell to start my meal, and then sat back at the end of it all and devoured a cannoli and double espresso. I'll be back on Friday for their clam pizza.
The owners, bakers and staff are dedicated to the belief that Proto's Pizza is the best pizza you'll ever eat.
