When I saw the review from the wedding party I felt compelled to write about my negative experience as well. The website promises and initial conversations with the owner of Providence Catering were great but the execution was very poor. Our guests were served from large chafing dishes all evening which never had more than 1-2 pieces of food in them! It was embarassing for sure. There were over 100 guests. The food was of the quality you could buy in any grocery's frozen food section, certainly not the promised "artisianal" foods mentioned on the Providence website. I would highly advise against using Providence Catering in Boulder, CO.

We hired Providence to provide a gourmet, seated wedding reception dinner for about 110 people this June (2008) at an outdoor setting. Instead of delivering, Providence showed up short at least one chef and with only a handful of servers—far too few people. Long story short: Our wedding guests ended up serving the dinner themselves. They self-bartended. Dinner was over two hours late and cold. Our entire reception schedule was shot, we had to pay the band extra to stay, and many guests left without eating. It was incredibly disappointing and emotional. We had decided to splurge on Providence because we both love food, and the most important thing about our reception was to provide a delicious, seated (as opposed to buffet) meal. Hiring Providence was a mistake.

Cons: Providence did not deliver what we contracted them to do.
