I love staying at these kinds of places, they have everything that I need and the prices are not the unimaginable. These kinds of places should exist everywhere.
Bad service only matched by even worse food.
On Mother's day, one might expect less than perfect service while hoping for the best. Not a Jill's.
From the moment we ordered, things went down hill. The waiter never came back to the table to check on drinks or water. Ordering at 7:00, I would think an hour would be more than enough time to serve the main course. Not at Jill's. It got worse. I may not be the best critic when it comes to upscale restaurants, but, I know what I like and I eat out at the most expensive spots in Metro Denver at least 6 to7 times per year. I wanted to get something I knew could not be screwed up so I ordered the prime rib. I asked to skip the horseradish sauce and bring with au jus. Well, I got it served with an onion brown gravy poured over the top. I have never seen prime rib done this way so, I asked for a side of "au jus." The server looked at me funny and said, "ok." Ten minutes later, she came to the table with a small cup of the same brown gravy with big pieces of onion and said, "Here you go, the chef made it fresh." Fresh what????
My father in law was livid with the lack of service and started making comments. The ladies both had sea scallops which, in a serving of 3, were all cooked differently. Not on purpose. One was still raw, the next was warm, the the third was charred to a juiceless, piece of leather.
No matter, at least we were at the end. My Father-in-law, requested that we put the food portion on my tab and the beverages on his. The waiter brought back one bill and when I asked him if he had split it as requested, he shrugged and took the bill back. A different server returned with two seperate checks but the amounts did not add up or match what the initial bill showed.
Oh well, I vote with my check book. I will never go back and I will tell everyone I can, not to go to Jill's.
There are too many good restaurants to spend big dollars in to ever put up with a place like this.
Jill's - so long forever,

Finally a real restaurant in Boulder!!!!. For years Boulder has been known for it's good food and bad service. If more places come along like Jill's maybe someday the cities reputation will change. I have been to Jills a number of times over the past year and it keeps getting better and better. The menu is evolving while the staff, far from the typical college fair, gets me excited about the food and are always able to pair my meal with a perfect wine that they hand select. And although the decor is on the cusp of oppulent the casual Boulder feel permiates through the entire building. See you there.
Best kept secret in Boulder, from pizza to lamb chops they have it all,and its great. the most beautiful room in boulder. the food is unique with out being wierd. It still offered some of my favorites like lamb chops, bone in prime rib and slow braised short ribs. the salad selection was complete with many choices. The happy hour is by far the best in boulder, feturing live music aand cheap eat and drinks. in the summer the place rocks! A must for anybody looking for a great time. dont be affraid to start a new tradition in boulder! eat well and dance the night away!
