Cool Music Scene

The Catacombs has a decent live music scene depending upon which night you visit, drinks are cheap and the staff is generally friendly when not over-worked. You'll have to fight for a table or even a seat on the weekends, all in all a bit over-hyped and crowded for my taste

This subterranean bar below the upscale, historic Hotel Boulderado makes vistors happily forget the light of day.

In Short
This dark bar features erratically spaced rooms filled with smoke and rowdy laughter. People sit on plump couches drinking Budweiser and lambasting their bosses. Frat boys vie with young professionals for pool tables, and 50-something regulars mix easily with 20-something transplants just in from California. There's a respectable variety of Boulder microbrews on tap.

Great Way to Escape the Yuppies!

I dig Catacombs! It's just about the only bar in Boulder where you're not surrounded by yuppies. There's a pool hall, bar and dance floor all in one place. What more could you ask for?
