Boulder's Best Kept Secret

I am VERY picky about my hair. I'm only in Boulder during the summer months for school. So I looked up salons online before I arrived. Zing wasn't one of the ones on my list to try. Keep in mind if I found one I liked I would stop looking. Well.... within the 4 weeks I have been here I've gone to 4 different salons. I just happened to pass Zing last night on the way to Amu and was curious as to what a hair salon was doing open at 9:15 pm on a Saturday night. When I got back to my apt. I looked it up online and was totally shocked. Open 7 days a week (yes you read that right)!! Open 10:00am to 10:00pm daily!!!! And they're talented!!!! I guess I can stop looking now.

• Pros: Staff is friendly yet professional & efficient
• Cons: I can't take them with me when I leave in August :-(

Hip Place for a Hip Cut

I just got my hair done by Travis. He did an amazing job and gave me a cut that will keep me coming back for more. I loved listening to the Britney Spears music and everyone was super friendly. I could not even begin to understand why everyone had such an issue there. The two little dogs are as cute as can be.

Bottom line, Zing is a great place for a haircut.

I heart Alden!

I just got my hair cut and colored by Alden for the first time and I couldn't be happier! I am really, really picky about my hair (I have long hair and have gotten it chopped too short too many times) but Alden took his time with me to understand what I wanted, as well as to suggest improvements to my style. I felt like he really listened to what I was saying. He did an awesome job and people haven't stopped complementing my color. I would definitely recommend this salon and this stylist!

Alden is the best hairstylist in Boulder!!

Okay if you really have to know the best secret in Boulder its Alden! I got my hair bleached and cut by him.. First he is fast...second he is funny..and last but most important he cut the best bob Ive ever had. Alden has worked in New York and it shows. I am so happy to finally have a qualified hairstylist that cares and knows his profession.

• Cons: I cant take Alden home with me!!

I personally was not satisfied with this salon. I should have asked how much a hair cut was before I took a seat. I felt that my stylist did not listen to what I wanted and went really short without asking me. After talking with the owner I will be sure to never go back. I was not satisfied with the way I was spoken to during a phone call trying to express my feelings.

Absolut Most Talented Stylists in Boulder

I have been comming to Zing for two years now and have always had the same stylist,( that I love) Salina. I don't know what all the gossip and bashing is about. Zing has a steady staff Travis has been at zing for a little over one year and Sierra has been there for a while now as well. I can say that because I am a regular. Sure you dont have to like the owner of the salon, i personaly don't know her enough to make a judgement. You can't bash the whole salon just because they may have a high turn over rate or you didn't specificly get what you asked for, maybe you didnt give your stylist enough information, or maybe they didn't ask enough questions. But one thing, I can stand by is I am completely satisfied with my results from my stylist I always change my hair color and cut, she totally keeps up with the latest trends and makes me feel good. She always remembers whats going on in my life so I know she cares and listens. Lets all admit when we visit our hairstylist we vent out whats going on in our personal lives so with that being said I would recomend Zing to anyone looking for something a little different and something a little safe. My whole family now goes and visits Salina but im sure you can find your perfict stylist at Zing.

• Pros: I absolutly love my stylist and the fun atmosphere
• Cons: parking is horrible

Best Hair!!!

I just moved here from California and I didn't think that the hair salons in Colorado would compare to those found in Hollywood but I was sorely mistaken. After using CitySearch to find places near my house and after reading a bunch of positive reviews about Zing I decided to check it out. The guy who cut my hair was Travis and he did an absolutely amazing job. The cut in California would have cost me easily twice as much and looked half as good. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a new stylist.

Zing had a very bright and outgoing staff that will help you with anything you have an issue with. I really like how hip the layout on the inside is and how happy everyone who works there is. Zing is a great place to get a haircut and I recommend it to everyone. Thanks.

Great Salon

Once again the majority of people writing posts talk nothing about the way this salon is run and focus more on the owner. This is a hair salon filled with highly energetic employees and all of you just sit here and say how horrible the owner is. I see Joy on average once again when I get my haircut from Travis Smith. He does an excellent job and Joy and I talk about all kinds of things. She is really friendly and has quite an outgoing personality. Those of you mentioning all these ridiculous accusations about her using illegal narcotics, where is the proof? If she really was highly involved in narcotics, do you not think that it would start to show somehow? Lay off talking all this negative stuff about anybody outside of work. This is a site meant to give negative or positive feedback based on your visit there. For some reason I don?t think that the majority of negative comments on here have any real credibility.

I personally highly recommend Zing Hair Salon if you want a great hair cut. All of their stylists do a superb job. I highly recommend Travis and Lucy if they are available.

Outstanding Management and Staff

I am writing this review on behalf of myself. Not because anyone told me to write it, not because I felt obligated or was being paid, but because I merley felt the need to voice my opinion. After all, it is a free country isn't it? I got hired as a receptionist about a week ago. I had never heard of Zing prior to this. I just wanted to mention, from the bottom of my heart, how wonderful of a busniess I think Zing is! I have never felt so passionate about a place I had barley worked at for a week. I had been through about four jobs in the past year. I quit most of these jobs, or was let go of for the same common reason, the management and I did not see eye to eye. I had managers that didn't train me, managers that were sketchy, managers that weren't honest, managers that say one thing and then do another, you name it and I've had it for a manager! In the week I've worked at Zing I can honestly say I've never felt so comfortable at a job within such a short amount of time of working there. Joy, my manager, is wonderful. Not only does she care about her staff but she takes the time to listen. Just today, I brought up an idea for better orginization for papers and even though I had only worked there for a week, she listed to my idea and gave me the ok to try it out. Joy values every LOYAL member of her staff. I also have never had a manager that is so open to talk to about anything, let alone that I feel comfortable opening up to after only knowning them for a week; Anyone that can be that honest with someone right off the bat, must be a very grounded and a good hearted person.

I love my job more and more every day and am excited to continue here.

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen...I went into Zing from a non biased stand point, and so far, I've been so blessed to get to know my wonderful manager Joy and the friendly staff who has welcomed me with open arms. Zing is all about good hearted people and I can't think of any work enviroment I would rather be in!

Exceptional Customer Service!

I'm not sure what all these negative comments are about, but I agree with everyone below me! Great with kids, cuttest dogs I've ever seen and great customer service! Highly recomended if you want to leave fully satisfied!
